Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) In Massachusetts

No two recoveries look the same. That’s why we offer a full continuum of care and help you transition at the right pace. Three to four evenings per week for therapy, skills, and accountability, ideal for work or family schedules. Our Evening Intensive Outpatient Program at Charles River Recovery in Weston, Massachusetts, is built for both.

We provide structured, evidence-based treatment designed to fit around daily life. It is designed to fit around work, school, or family obligations without disrupting your life.

How IOP Works At Our Weston Facility?

Our IOP provides structured therapy, skills training, and accountability during evening sessions. Treatment includes group therapy, individual therapy, and, when appropriate, family therapy. The program is designed to fit around work, school, or family obligations.

Treatment draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Integrated treatment supports substance use and co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, and trauma. Every session is led by licensed addiction counselors and recovery specialists.

What A Typical Week Includes At Charles River Recovery

Group therapy sessions address relapse prevention, coping skills, and personal growth. These sessions provide peer support in a structured environment. Participants engage in group therapy sessions for peer support.

Participants engage in individual therapy as part of a personalized treatment plan. Each treatment approach is tailored to the unique needs of the individual.

Medication management is available for clients who need it. Board-certified physicians and nurses manage medications to support withdrawal, reduce cravings, and stabilize mental health.

We also address sleep, nutrition, movement, community, and purpose, and include family therapy when appropriate. We encourage family involvement as it can be a crucial support system for recovery.

Who is IOP right for?

IOP involves fewer hours of treatment per week than PHP, which offers more intensive daily support. It can be a fit if you’re transitioning from inpatient or residential care and still need structured support.

It can also help when weekly therapy is not enough, and you need more structured support than traditional outpatient care. Our program is designed for working adults, students, and caregivers who need flexible treatment that fits daily life.

Integrated treatment supports substance use and co-occurring conditions while fitting around daily responsibilities.
